The Human Experience: Through the Lens of Three Women

Islamic Art Revival Series presents it’s first photography exhibition entitled THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE: Through the Lens of Three Women.

The Human Experience features the work of three Texas-based women including, Carolyn Brown, Tuba Koymen and Farah Janjua.

The exhibit will run February 28 – March 25, 2018 at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations.

Opening reception is Friday, March 2nd, from 6-8:30PM featuring Dr. Nada Shabout as the keynote speaker. Dr. Shabout is a Professor of Art History and the Coordinator of the Contemporary Arab and Muslim Cultural Studies Initiative (CAMCSI) at the University of North Texas. She is the founding president of the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art from the Arab World, Iran and Turkey (AMCA).

An artist panel, moderated by two guest experts, Richard Doughty (editor, AramcoWorld) and Debora Hunter (Professor Emerita of Art, SMU) will take place on Saturday, March 10th from 3:30-5:30PM.

This arts initiative is funded in part by the City of Richardson through the Cultural Arts Commission
