The IARS 4th Annual Juried International Exhibition of Contemporary Islamic Art had its opening event for the participating artists on Saturday September 26th, 2015 at the LuminArte Fine Art Gallery. Our esteemed chief guest was Dr Aimee Froom, Curator for the Arts of the Islamic Worlds at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Dr. Froom talked about Connecting Cultures; Islamic Art Across Space and Time. She congratulated the IARS Team members and added that it was an honor for her to be part of such an event and that she was in admiration of the work that IARS is accomplishing, and has accomplished in such a short period of time since 2012.
In a celebration of Islamic art and its universal, cross-cultural appeal, a gallery show of contemporary Islamic artworks was held September 26, 2015 – October 31, 2015 at LuminArté Gallery in the Dallas Design District and included artworks by world renowned artists.

About the Juror
Salma Tuqan is the Curator of the art of Contemporary Middle East since 2011, at the famous Victoria & Albert Museum in London, United Kingdom.
Salma has an BA and MA Honors in Art History, from the Queen’s College at the Cambridge University in the UK. She is also the Curator of the Jameel Prize at the V & A Museum. Salma initiated the National Art Library Project to build the first cohesive archive of contemporary and modern Arab, Iranian and Turkish art publications in the UK. Tuqan was the Artistic Director of Contemparabia, London from 2009 – 2010.
